Informal Discourse

for flute and vibraphone

The blending capabilities of flute and vibraphone are what first prompted me to write for this particular combination. However, as I pondered the instruments, I came to appreciate the fact that each has its own characteristics of articulation that allow it to distinguish itself from the other. So keeping both of these concepts in mind (blending and separation), I wrote this piece as a set of short dialogues for flute and vibraphone.
